The month of Ramadan is a great opportunity for Muslims to attain the countless blessings from Allah Almighty (sawab). It is the time when Muslims all around the world fast from dawn to dusk, hoping to attain the love of Allah. In this month, Allah multiplies the reward for each good act by a great amount. As mentioned by Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.):
“Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah)
This is a great blessing of Allah, as this will enhance our naama-e-aimaal (deeds record) greatly. Reading word by word Quran in Holy Month of Ramadan brings more rewards then in other months of year.Consequently, a good naama-e-aimaal magnifies our chances of entering jannah (heaven). As for how one should schedule his or her Ramadan, it is nothing complicated. You just have to keep a few things in mind:
Ramadan divided into three Ashras
This Holy month is divided into three parts, each having its own unique characteristics and attributes. Hence, however you may schedule your worship on this month you must divide it in three. Read the Quran or its important surahs such as Surah Yasin, Surah Kahf, etc. Learn duas known for that specific Ashra. Recite them and instill the habit in your daily routine. The recitation of Quran must also be kept persistent throughout as the recitation alone rewards us in great sawab as evident from the following hadith-e-Nabvi:
“He who reads one letter of the Quran it (becomes) for him a good deed, and a single good deed is rewarded (by Allah) by ten times the like thereof. I am not saying that Alif-Lam-Mim is (just) one word, but that Alif is a (separate) letter (word), Lam is a (separate) letter (word), and Mim is a (separate) letter (word).” (Tirmidhi)
The first ashra are the days of mercy, the second are the days of forgiveness while the third ashra offers us freedom from the hell fire. There are certain duas for each Ashra and they should be recited in each of them for additional blessings from Allah. As far as scheduling a routine is concerned, the best time for worship is right after fajr prayers, when our minds are fresh and free of the day of fatigue the tour brains are yet to go through. Reading Quran in the morning brings calmness in the mind.
Importance of third Ashra
The third ashra reserved special importance as far as blessings are concerned. In the odd nights of this ashra, there exists a special night which rewards greatly to those Muslims who pray in it. This night is called the laila-tul-Qadr and it is believed that the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) in this month. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) has said:
“Look for lailatul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.” (Sahih Bukhari)
Similarly, in the Quran:
“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.” (The Quran 97:3)
Hence, this night ought not to be taken for granted.
Conclusion
Ramadan is a great month for Muslims and every day must be utilized as much as possible for achieving great rewards.
